How Long Do Botox or Dysport Treatments Take?
Botox/Dysport Procedure
First, the doctor will mark the treatment site and sterilize the area. Topical anesthetic can be applied before the procedure if necessary, but most patients report the injections feel like a small pinch, with only minor discomfort. Once ready, the medicine is injected into the targeted area with a very tiny needle. The actual Botox/Dysport treatment only takes about 5 minutes due to the non-invasive nature of the treatment, and not even a bandaid is needed after the procedure!
Results
Once the procedure is finished, most patients return to their job or normal daily activities right away. Most providers recommend the patient does not lie down immediately following the procedure, and they avoid massaging or rubbing the area for at least 12 hours after. Results may be seen within the first few days following treatment, but optimal results may take up to a week to become visible. Results may last anywhere between 3-6 months.
