Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure used to increase the size of the breast or to correct the shape and symmetry of the breasts. Dr. Correa uses silicone or saline implants or a technique called fat transfer to achieve the look that his patients desire.

types of breast implants
The primary variables are the type of material (silicone or saline), the shape of the implant (round or ‘anatomic’), and the texture of the shell (smooth or rough). Each of these breast implants have their own unique set of attributes. The most common types of breast augmentation implants are:
Saline Implants
Composed of a sterile saline solution. If the implant shell ruptures, saline solution is absorbed by the body and naturally expelled.
Silicone Implants
Smooth Implants
Designed to have some movement which generally makes them appear more natural than other implants.
Round Implants
These implants are designed so that if any rotation occurs, the breast maintains the same shape.
Anatomic Implants
Form- Stable Silicone Implants
Also called “Gummy Bear” Implants, these implants are thicker than silicone and the gel in these will remain in place in the event of a rupture.
Textured Implants
The velcro-like surface these implants prevents rotation and movement. All anatomic implants are textured, but round implants can be textured or smooth.
Fat Transfer
Removes fat from an area of the body and transfers it to the breast. Controversial as a cosmetic procedure and should only be undertaken in very select circumstances.
